New WAN carriage network — high-density fibre expansion across six cabinets

A Sydney data centre customer was bringing on a new WAN carrier. Existing technology across four cabinets needed to be fully patchable into two new cabinets. The environment was a multi-stakeholder shared space with other businesses operating throughout the works.

We supplied and installed 52 CoreLink EHD Enhanced High Density MTP cabling systems, EHD enclosures for MPO trunk installation, MPO-to-MPO interconnects in OS2 and OM5, 16-port FOBOT assemblies, four shielded Cat6A coupler patch panels, PDUs and power cords across the full cabinet footprint. Every link light-source tested. Every panel labelled to standard. Full as-built documentation provided on completion.

New WAN carriage network activated. All six cabinets cross-patchable. OS2 and OM5 fibre trunks tested and certified. Cat6A copper panels installed and labelled. Full documentation handed over.

Retail store going cashless — full infrastructure overhaul from chaos to certified

A retail business preparing to go fully digital and cashless needed more cabinet space and a complete picture of what was live on their network. No device was documented against a switch port. No VLAN had been established. Head office had no way to remotely guide a staff member through a fault. The cabinet was at capacity with no room for new equipment.

We planned thoroughly before touching anything — pre-works, audits, site meetings, documented scope. Then ran a day shift and three consecutive night shifts to carry out the remediation without disrupting trading. We chiselled out store fixtures to fit the new cabinet. Every port audited, every run tested, VLANs established, load-balanced switches installed, redundant routers configured, second power supply and surge protection added. UAT completed, full documentation handed over.

Three independent internet connections — primary fibre, secondary circuit, 4G failover. Two power supplies with surge protection. Redundant routers. Load-balanced switches. Every port documented. VLAN security in place. Head office can triage remotely.

Melbourne warehouse interior — WAP circled in red, suspended high in rafters above gate 5 Faulty self-terminated RJ45 at patch panel — red arrow pointing to problem connector
Industrial · Wi-Fi Fault Isolation Melbourne, VIC

WAP replaced twice. Still dropping. The problem was never the WAP.

A warehouse operator replaced the access point above gate 5 after persistent intermittent Wi-Fi dropouts. The fault returned within 24 hours. Meraki was reporting the cable at 107 metres — over the rated limit for reliable PoE. The WAP was not the problem.

Our technician tested end to end, step by step, working at height with an elevated work platform. He found a poorly self-terminated RJ45 at the WAP end — pins not making solid contact. Re-terminated at the WAP end and re-terminated the messy patch panel connection. Port enabled on the switch, tested with the client. Cable now reporting 84 metres.

WAP online and stable. Cable confirmed at 84m on Meraki. Root cause was a termination, not hardware.

Before — Perth warehouse data cabinet, cables tangled and unmanaged, mixed patch cords Before

Warehouse WAP offline — old patch cords couldn't carry the PoE load

A regional Perth service site lost connectivity to the warehouse WAP. The cabinet had seen many hands over many years — mixed old and new patch cords, nothing labelled, nothing maintained. Old cables were physically incapable of carrying the PoE demands of the recently upgraded wireless infrastructure.

We isolated the fault to the substandard patch cord mix, replaced all failing cables with correctly rated leads, and tidied the cabinet properly. The result is a maintainable environment — ports identifiable, cabling restrained, whoever works in it next knows what they are looking at.

WAP online. PoE delivered reliably. Cabinet cleaned, labelled, and documented. Risk of recurrence from degraded cabling removed.

Commissioned boardroom — Logitech Teams Room installed, Dandenong VIC retail distribution facility AV rack commissioned — QSC amps, Logitech systems, patch panel, data cabling Lunchroom fitout — audio, AV and data cabling installed, Dandenong VIC
Retail Distribution · AV & Data Fitout Dandenong, VIC

Six meeting rooms commissioned in a new distribution facility

A VIC retail distributor fitting out a new warehouse facility needed six meeting and training rooms fully commissioned — four Logitech Microsoft Teams Room systems and two rooms with projectors, retractable screens, amplifiers and speakers. Two existing systems from a prior site also needed decommissioning and reinstallation at the new location.

We followed the integrator's scope to the letter, including logic controller programming and full documentation. All audio, video, and data cabling installed across every room, comms cabinets and equipment locations. Wall plates labelled. AV racks populated and commissioned. Speaker cabling run for the lunch room and training room.

All six rooms operational. Logitech Teams systems, projectors, screens, amps, and speakers commissioned and tested. Documentation complete. Facility ready for occupation.

Retail patch panel — poorly terminated UTP cables hanging loose with no cable restraint or fixing
Retail · LAN Fault & Remediation Miranda, NSW

Digital signage offline. The player was fine. The termination wasn't.

A retail store's digital signage media player had no network activity. The client had re-racked the player and confirmed the hardware was not at fault. The cause was in the wall — poorly terminated UTP cables with no restraint or fixing. Every time the panel moved, wire pairs lost contact with the port.

Re-terminated the data outlet. Service restored and tested. We also gave the client a straight read: the entire edge cabinet needs reworking. The terminations left by the previous contractor are a recurring fault. Cables hanging unsupported will keep detaching. That is not a fix — it is a delay.

Signage player back online. Service tested and confirmed. Client advised on full cabinet remediation scope to prevent recurrence.

Active NBN fibre lying loose on office floor with no conduit protection — Wollongong CBD office renovation SC connector panel NB31782.FTP2 — NBN fibre terminated and relocated to new comms room
Commercial · NBN Fibre Relocation Wollongong CBD, NSW

Office renovation — active NBN fibre too short to reach the new comms room

A real estate business relocating its comms room during an office renovation found the active NBN fibre had enough length for the original position, not the new one. The cable was sitting unprotected on the floor with a live service running on it. NBN Co referred them directly to AAA Communications.

Technicians Michael and Jason attended, worked through the builder's renovation to make sense of the scope, extended the fibre, housed it correctly in conduit for mechanical protection, and terminated at the new comms room location. Tested through to handover.

Fibre relocated to new comms room. Active service maintained. Cable correctly protected in conduit. Customer satisfied. NBN Co referral completed.

In-building 4G/5G donor antenna installation — hospital facade, Sydney NSW
Health · In-Building 4G/5G Sydney, NSW

Five clinical floors with no mobile signal. Lead lining and concrete blocking every carrier.

A Sydney hospital had five clinical floors with no usable mobile signal. Lead-lined walls and reinforced concrete were attenuating all carrier frequencies below usable threshold. Clinical staff could not receive calls or use mobile data on wards. Alarm escalation to mobile was failing at the physical layer.

We carried out a floor-by-floor RF assessment, mapped the attenuation profile of each ward, and confirmed the shielding characteristics of the building envelope. Designed and installed a bidirectional amplifier (BDA) system with an outdoor donor antenna and indoor distributed cable runs to each floor. Coordinated directly with Telstra for BDA type approval compliance under ACMA requirements. Tested across Telstra, Optus and Vodafone.

Full in-building 4G/5G coverage restored on all five clinical floors. Clinical alarm escalation to mobile confirmed working. Carrier testing passed across three networks. System compliant with ACMA and Telstra BDA requirements.

Telstra lead-in box on corrugated shed wall — cable shortfall blocking new service activation, Sydney warehouse NBN device in rack — Sydney warehouse, carrier integration and service restoration
Industrial · Carrier Lead-In Remediation Sydney, NSW

Cabling shortfall delayed a new service activation

A Sydney warehouse needed a new Telstra service activated, but the existing lead-in cable did not reach the required termination point. No local technical resources were available. The Telstra activation was stalled and the business was waiting.

We assessed the site, installed a temporary cable to give Telstra and the customer enough connectivity to begin testing, then installed a permanent direct cable to the Telstra lead-in box. Coordinated with the customer's IT department throughout.

Telstra service activation unblocked. Temporary cable enabled carrier testing. Permanent installation completed. Service live.
